Marilyn Turner Eason

Marilyn Turner Eason entered this life on 4 April 1935, in Jonesboro, Georgia. When she was 12 years old she gave her life to her Savior Jesus, and a few years later, at the age of 18 she pledged her heart to the only man she ever loved, A. D. "Dick" Eason. True Love doesn't happen everyday, but this rare Blessing indeed was theirs.

Together they raised six children who really did know how to put the fun back into dysfunctional. The five daughters and one son had a 22 year age-range, with the one boy tucked in the approximate middle.

Mom's sparkling aqua eyes conveyed caring and encouragement to all around her, but especially to her family. She didn't just go the extra mile, she paved the way as she went and put in sidewalks and landscaping. When her eldest daughter needed help getting to classes to earn her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees, Mom not only drove her to downtown Richmond, she would carry Anita's books and get her settled in class. The fact that Mom was pregnant with her youngest child during this time was inconsequential to Mom. Once baby Jen was born, Mom continued the commute with Anita until she had her degrees. More than one professor at VCU declared that Mom had earned a degree or two herself. They just didn't have a program for Super-Extraordinary, Above-and-Beyond Mom.

Mom and Dad enjoyed life together, doing simple things like yard work (Mom loved raking leaves), playing Rook, watching Falcons Football and Braves Baseball, and playing whiffle ball in the backyard with us all after dinner. Mom was at Dad's side until the moment he went to be with the Lord on 9 September 2000.

Though Mom continued to be fully engaged in the lives of her children, her brilliant grandchildren, and her over-matched Lexulous opponents, we all knew that she was treasuring the moment that she would meet her Savior face-to-face and be reunited with Dad. We are sad but at the same time very happy that on 23 December 2020 she stepped into an eternity of never-ending Joy. We miss her so much already.
