Mark Frederick Wood

He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and June Wood, and brother Edward Wood. Mark is survived by his children Stephanie Gasper, Samantha Wood, and Dallas Wood, along with Francine Fontana the love of his life; grandchildren Aiden Gasper, Francesca Gasper, and Giacomo Cella; son-in-law Nick Cella; Brother Steve Wood and his wife Patsy; Brother Tom Wood; sister-in-law Melanie Wood; Aunt Joyce and Uncle Walford; and many beloved nieces and nephews

Born on July 24, 1958, Mark grew up in the Richmond area, where his family and many lasting relationships brought joy and laughter to those who knew him. He attended parochial schools before moving on to D. S. Freeman High School, where he developed a love for athletics. This passion for physical conditioning and training continued throughout his life, leading him to work as a personal trainer, sales manager, and hold leadership positions in the fitness, kickboxing, and athletic industries.

Mark was deeply devoted to his family, taking pride and joy in their successes and happiness. His influence touched many lives, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. Though he will be deeply missed, his adventurous spirit and the stories of his life will live on.

Later in life, Mark's passion for motorcycles, especially his chopper, became his trademark. He loved riding with friends, feeling the wind in his face. His wit and sense of humor brought laughter to those around him, and he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, courage, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. Mark believed in the best in people, and his friends knew they could always count on him. He lived life to the fullest, focusing on what truly mattered. Mark leaves us with the legacy of learning from what we live.

A Committal Service will be held on Friday, December 6th at 2PM at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.
