MASON, Mary Cook, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2012, while being cared for at home by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Seale and John Henry Cook; her husband of 47 years, Beryl Leland Mason; son-in-law, Robert Nelson Sheffield; and daughters-in-law, Sharron Chumney Mason and Molly Smith Mason. Survivors include her children, Betty Mason Sheffield, Patsy Mason Maples, Jerry Lynn Mason, and Terry Leland Mason and his wife, Vicki; son-in-law, William Edward Maples; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mason was a member of Huguenot United Methodist Church. Her remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Huguenot United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
