

Ola Mae Glover, age 101, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Height; father, Elijah Tharpe; mother, Claudia Tharpe; sons Frank Sr. and Robert Lee Height and second husband, Ulysses Glover.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Frank Height and three children were born; daughter, Mary Geneva Height of North Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, Robert Lee Height Jr. (Angelina) of Richmond, VA, Derrick Height (Helena) of Henrico, VA, Julie Height of Richmond, VA, Yolanda Sharp of Midlothian, VA, Angie Height of Richmond, VA; one great granddaughter; six great grandsons; one devoted sister, Ollie Tharpe of Macon, GA; sister-in-law Hazel Tharpe of Macon, GA; a loving ex daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Height of Richmond, VA and many other relatives and friends.
Ola joined the Griffin Gift Baptist Church at an early age. She was an active member, serving with the usher ministry, singing in the Senior Choir, serving as president of the choir and serving on the kitchen ministry. She was also active at her sister church, Hopewell Baptist. She was employed by the camp wheeler canning, Twiggs County Schools, and Georgia Forest. She was always ready to help others until her health failed. She then went to live with her daughter. Quilting was her major hobby before her eyesight deteriorated. She made beautiful Christmas quilts.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113. All are invited to a reception afterwards at the funeral home (staff will direct).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice, the Grove Avenue Baptist Church family, my sister-in-Christ Debbie Tuker who came to relieve me for four or more hours on Fridays, Woody Funeral Home, Griffin Gift Baptist Church, Soloist Adrianne Whitfield, Saxophonist Fred Vaughn, Allison Wilkens, Aunt Ollie, and Winnie Rymera.
