She was preceded in death by her husband Castle Koop, her parents Marvin Noel Hough and Lulu Grace Hough, and by her brother David B. Hough. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Shockley (Bill) and Sheryl McPeak (Alfred), her son Stephen C. Koop (Karen), four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She graduated from Mary Washington College and worked as a school dietician in Richmond and then as a homemaker. Among her interests were music (she played a marimba for churches and religious retreats) and she also enjoyed gardening and collecting rocks and Depression glass. Graveside service will be private at Southlawn Memorial Park.
