Born the eldest of four children, Pat grew up with a deep sense of responsibility and love for her family. She is survived by her sister, Roberta Schoen (Zane), her sister-in-law Sherry Morgan, her children, Mark Nichols (Heather) and Robert Nichols (Betsey); and her grandchildren, Abigale, Corianne, William, Alaina, Jackson, and Emma, who will carry forward her legacy of warmth, humor, and kindness; and many nieces, a nephew, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she adored. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nichols, her sister Sandra Lakin, her brother Robert Morgan, her father, Robert Morgan, and her mother, Elizabeth Morgan.
Pat graduated from Stafford High School and went on to put herself through cosmetology school, demonstrating her determination and independent spirit. Her hardworking nature led her to Alexandria, VA, where she began her career in Washington, DC before marrying Kenneth Nichols and relocating to Powhatan, VA.
Pat built and ran a hair salon business in Powhatan, where she not only provided a service but created a community of clients and friends. She later moved to Midlothian to be closer to her sons and her beloved grandchildren, who knew her as their loving “Nana.” She was a joyful and nurturing presence in their lives, always cheering them on and showering them with unconditional love.
Pat’s faith was a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life. She lived her values daily through kindness, compassion, and her devotion to her family and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
