He was preceded in death by his mother Retia K. Ransom, his maternal grandmother, Lucille Ransom and his paternal grandfather, Charles R. Didymus Jr.
He is survived by his children Julius, Isis, and Dante and his wife; grandson Dominic; His stepsons Noah and Juan Diaz; his sister Shanna Didymus; three brothers Francis Ransom and his wife, Thomas Didymus, and Isiah Didymus; his father, Richard C. Didymus Sr. ; Paternal grandmother, Dorothy Didymus; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, his military community and personal friends.
Richard was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 15, 1977, to Retia Ransom and Richard Didymus Sr. He attended Poughkeepsie City School District and later went on to serve in the Army for 20 years. He graduated from Excelsior College, where he earned his master's in business administration.
Richard had a deep love for music and found great joy in playing instruments and singing. He will be remembered for his full heart, bountiful jokes and for his contagious attitude and laughter.
