She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessup and Estelle Harrison, of Williamston, North Carolina.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Morris Sutton; her son, Robert Sutton (Heather); grandsons, Reid and Andrew; her sister, Patricia Corlett (Bill); and her dear friend and coworker, Shirley Catron; and many treasured friends and family.
Roberta had a B.S. from East Carolina University and a Masters in education from VCU. She was a fifth grade teacher at Grange Hall Elementary for 18 years and taught in Chesterfield County for over 30 years. Roberta was an active member of Bon Air UMC since 1969, was a member of the choir, a circle chairman, librarian, member of bible study and bookclub.
She loved playing the piano, singing in the choir, reading and traveled all over the world with Morris and dear friends, the Smiths', Gilberts' and Adams' during retirement, but most of all she loved spending time with her two wonderful grandsons.
Roberta will be missed dearly by her husband and family, but we take comfort in her reunion with her beloved parents.
