Ronald Craig Moyer

Dr. Ronald Moyer, beloved husband of Lynne (Burak) Moyer and proud father of Daniel, Matthew, Melanie and Andrew, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Ron grew up in Reading, Pa where he played at their bungalow on the Maiden Creek, attended Reading High School, and then Albright College, where he met his wife Lynne. Ron then went on to Rutgers University and earned his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. His career began as a Lt. in the Navy at the Oakland, California Naval Hospital. He continued helping people after moving to Warsaw, VA, then to Aniston, Al, and finally to Chesterfield, VA where he started his own private practice. Ron was a loving, compassionate person, who touched many lives. The life changing influence he had on others was reflected in the stories he held on to the longest and were dear to his heart. He was a friend to all, a man of faith, a reader, an educator, and an avid sports fan. His determination to body surf, no matter the conditions at Duck, NC, was a part of his fun loving spirit. He could put a smile on your face in a heartbeat! His favorite pastime was collecting and listening to “oldies” music, which was played in his home until his final days. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lynne, of 53 years, his children Danny, Matthew and wife Carrie, Melanie and husband John (O’Brien), and Andrew and wife Nicole. His grandchildren Zachary, Devin, Molly, Adam, and McKenna will always hold a special place in their hearts for their “Papa.” We know he will be at Peace now and reunited with his best friend, Harry Knight, as Heaven’s gates open to greet him. May he rest in Peace for Eternity!
