

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rose Salamone and her brother, Charles Salamone.
Rosemarie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ira "Mike" Basinger III; three daughters, Sherry O’Neal and her former husband, Cliff, Susan Castelvecchi and her husband, David of Midlothian, Patricia Tiller and her husband John, of Powhatan, Va.; three grandchildren, Rebekah Brown and her husband, Kevin, David Castelvecchi Jr and his wife, Alexa, of Midlothian, and Eli Tiller, of Powhatan. Va; and 2 great-grandsons, Donnie and Wyatt Castelvecchi; a sister, Carmela Peacock; two brothers, James Jr. and John Salamone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosemarie, a woman of deep faith and strong convictions, was born in Brooklyn, New York, to a family who had bravely journeyed from Italy to build a new life in America. At the tender age of six, her family embarked on another significant move, relocating to Virginia, where Rosemarie would live out the entirety of her rich and meaningful life.
Rosemarie embraced life with a spirit of determination, finding immense happiness in her family. Her life was anchored by her unwavering faith, a powerful presence she enthusiastically shared with others. Dedicated to spreading its light and comfort, she touched many lives with her profound conviction. Her resolute spirit, steadfast love, and deep faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11am on Friday, September 19 at Passion Community Church, Midlothian Campus, 50 Otterdale Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113. Interment will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
