Shirley Farrar Heath

Shirley Lee Farrar Heath, age 83, formerly of Richmond and Chesterfield County, Virginia, died October 4, 2019. She is predeceased by her parents, James Elvin Farrar Sr. and Katherine Lois Throckmorton Farrar, and her brother James Elvin Farrar Jr. (Doris), her sister Jean Farrar Worsham (Kaiser). She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William P. Heath and daughters Celeste Heath Flexon (Bill), Teresa Heath Rudolph (Jeffrey) and Susanne Heath Saldana (Jay) and her sister Barbara Farrar Barden; eight grandchildren, Christopher Duncan Spangler (Ashley), Christopher Scott Rudolph (Katherine), Nicholas Kelson Spangler, Dustin Blaine Spangler (Ashleigh), Brook Allison Flexon, Erin Marie Flexon, Jordan Alyse Flexon, and Presley Martin Saldana, and numerous nieces and nephews. In her early years Mrs. Heath lived in South Richmond and attended Stockton Street Baptist Church, Powhatan and Bainbridge Baptist Church Elementary Schools. She later lived in Chesterfield County and attended Branch's Baptist Church, Manchester Middle School and graduated from Manchester High School in 1956. In recent years she was a member of Bon Air Christian Church. In 1961 she was awarded a PhT (Putting Hubby Through) from Southern Technical Institute for working and supporting her husband while he studied for his degree. She was an avid volunteer at Chippenham Hospital for a number of years and enjoyed may craft classes and bowling. Her greatest love was her family. Her remains rest at Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, where visitation will be held Friday, October 11, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Bon Air Christian Church, 2071 Buford Road, Bon Air.
