COWARDIN, Thomas Cecil, 86, of Midlothian, died January 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Cowardin; and his brother, Dr. John Franklin Cowardin, Jr. Survivors include three children, Thomas Mitchell Cowardin and his wife, Rosaleen Bertolino, David Franklin Cowardin and his wife, RaMona Stahl, and Linda Cowardin Andrews and her husband, William Michael Andrews; four granddaughters, Venice, Mollie, Brenna, and Genevieve; one brother, William Henry Cowardin; and one sister, Martha Ellen Dunn. Mr. Cowardin was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. He enjoyed working his entire career at Cowardin’s Jewelers, the family business. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2341 Winterfield Road. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
