

WILLIAMS, Violet Butler, 98, of Richmond, went to be with her Lord on August 4, 2016. Mrs. Williams was retired from The State of Virginia and she also worked for several years at Thalhimers Department Store. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Floyd "Pop" Gordon Williams; and her daughter, Jean Carro. She is survived by her children, Jerry Williams and his wife, Gloria, Brian Williams and Bonnie King. Nannie Violet, as her family called her, also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her grandchildren are Scott Williams and his wife, Trudy, Tammy Bryant and her husband, Mike, Steve Carro and his wife, Jill, Sharon Carro, Tiffany James and her husband, Joshua, Laura and Andy King. Her great-grandchildren are Keith Williams and his wife, Kaitlyn, Cassie Prior and her husband, Bob, Dallas Williams, Cody and Dylan Bryant, Kevin and Amy Carro, Corbin, Holden and Garrett James. Her great-great-grandchild is Kristen Prior. Nannie Violet will always be remembered for her cooking. She always had a great Sunday meal for all her family. She was also a talented seamstress and she loved to make decorative flags to display in the yard. We love you Nannie Violet and tell Pop and Jean hello for us. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., on August 19, 2016, at Woody's Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd.
