

Virginia Langdon Huddleston, 83, of Midlothian, Va., died unexpectedly, April 21, 2012. She was born May 13, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Archer Huddleston. She is survived by four children; Peter C. Huddleston (Mary), Amy H. Hand (Jess), Mark R. Huddleston (Beth), and Julia H. Huffman, five grandchildren; Jonathan L. Hand, Laura C. Hand, Andrew J. Huffman, William A. Cagle, and Zachary R. Huddleston.
Virginia graduated from Queen College with a degree in mathematics and worked in New York City in the banking industry. In 1956 she moved to Covington, Va., where she was active in The Emanuel Episcopal Church, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, the League of Women Voters, Garden Club, Friends of the Library, The Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and supported Boys Home Episcopal. She was also a supporter and volunteer at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, Va.
In 2002 she moved to Brandermill Woods Retirement Community in Midlothian, Va., where she enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, book clubs, Bible study, her faithful dog, Monique and happy hour. During this time she became an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, where her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 11am, with a reception following at Brandermill Woods Retirement Community's club house.
