

HAHN, William Noble, 85, passed away on November 17, 2012. He was born to the late Jessie and Ouida Hahn on March 5, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio. William was a Navy veteran serving in World War II. He was a lifetime fan of Virginia Tech, receiving his undergraduate degree in Industrial Arts Education and then a master's in Industrial Education from Virginia State College. William Hahn was a lifelong educator, teaching shop in Clarksville, Va., and Petersburg, Va. He also taught industrial arts in the State Corrections Department. He finished his career with the state in the Department of Education, supervising the operations of vocational technical training centers for much of the state. He retired the state after over 20 years of service. When he retired, he resided in Highland County, Va., for over 20 years, where he spent his time working on his cabin, riding his horses and enjoying being outside. William is survived by his sons, Jeffrey D. Hahn and William C. Hahn; three grandchildren, Emilia Hahn, Jacob Hahn and Cara Hahn; and one sister, Sara "Shorty" Hahn. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Diana Hahn and Kassidy Hahn; and two siblings, Robert Hall Hahn and Helen Rebecca Hahn. William had many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, Va., from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
