HEISLER, William Earle, Captain, U.S. Air Force, Retired, passed away at 73 years old on April 25, 2011, with his family at his side. Mr. Heisler is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Martin Heisler; sons, William Earle Heisler, Jr. and wife, Tetyana, Karl Richard Heisler and wife, Sarah, Kurt William Heisler and wife, Sarah; and grandchildren, Julia Katelyn Heisler, Grace Chambers Heisler and Benjamin Henry Heisler. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Earle and Mary Heisler. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Master of Science in Management. While at Rensselaer, he performed magic shows for local school children. An avid hockey fan, he coached youth hockey for several years. He also loved sailing off the coast of Maine on schooners, the Adventure and the Angelique.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Salisbury Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
