Harvey Ann Merriman

Harvey Ann Merriman, 79, of Spencer, OK passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014. She was born September 29, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to John Sylvester and Hazel Velma (Bone) Wing. Harvey met and married the love of her life, Owen Robert Merriman, June 14, 1952 and the two spent 62 wonderful years together. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Midwest City and was very active in her service. She was known by most of the members for the bright smile and hugs that met them at the door as she served as a greeter to members and guests alike. Harvey enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a wonderful cook. She had a huge collection of study Bibles and cookbooks. She was a gracious host and loved to entertain and had many missionaries and other guests around her table for her delicious home cooked meals. Harvey and Owen loved gardening and puttering in their yard together. She was a giver and a lover and was generous with her time and love to all. Harvey made sure that her last message to her beloved family was, “Sure do loves ya” and that sums up the beautiful spirit of Harvey Merriman. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Harvey is survived by her husband, Owen Merriman; daughter, Coley Claybaugh and husband Ralph; sons, Kevin Merriman and wife Connie, Steve Merriman and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Deidre and husband Vince, Samiha and husband Rob, Bayli, Michael, Ben, JR, Stevie and wife Tara, Robbi and wife Melanie, Candace and husband JT, Kent, Kurt, Monica and Josh; brothers, Billie Joe Wing and Russell Wilson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Wing; daughter, Kari Dawn Merriman; and grandson, Bud. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Cornerstone Church 9900 NE 15th Street, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73130.
