Matthew William Fleming

Matthew William (Matt) Fleming was born September 23, 1959 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Richard &Josephine (Vilkauskas) Fleming. He passed away on November 7, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Matt was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Educator & Friend. He loves being the families "Secret Santa". Matt also enjoyed swimming, canoeing, backpacking, camping & fishing (especially at night under the stars). Astronomy & Star gazing were two of his favorite things. He & his five Brothers enjoyed playing hockey in their parents back yard or on the tennis court growing up. Matt had attained the rank of 1719 of 2400 in Chess.

The passion for learning & exploring led Matt to pursue his Bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and his Master's degree from Oklahoma State University. Most recently, Matt was an Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma City Community College. Matt also was a summer camp counselor at Slippery Falls Camp; he taught Astronomy and Pioneering to the students. He loved numbers, educating and helping others. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Matt is survived by his parents Richard & Josephine; Brothers, Tom & his wife, Lisa, James & his wife, Candy, Bryan & his wife, Tammy, Fran and Eddie & his wife, Xiang; nieces and nephews, Carson, Darren, Monica, Erin, Ryan, David, Joshua, Kristin and Francesca, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and numerous friends and students.
