Barbara R Murphy

1924 – 2014

On October 4, 2014 a very wonderful, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed away surrounded by her children & Family. She was born May 16, 1924 to Hazel and Arthur Cederholm in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Harold Bert Murphy September 20, 1946. She graduated from South High School class of 1941, retired from Cottonwood Hospital after 23 years of service and enjoyed her friendships she shared at her Quilt Guild meetings. She spend many years as a Primary Teacher and Girl Scout leader. New and old acquaintances who met mom would say “she is so sweet, we just love her”. She was someone who was interested in everybody and impartial to all. Her sense of humor and the love she showed her children, family and friends will be greatly missed. She is survived by children, Joel Murphy (Rusty), Jolene Brewer (Steve), Melanie Miller (Reese), Clay Murphy, Todd Murphy (Jodi), nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, brother and neice. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Harold Bert Murphy, and Nephew Wayne Arthur Cederholm II. A viewing will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial located at 3401 S. Highland Drive and Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. , viewing prior to service.
