Barbara Schonlau

Barbara was born March 28, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Dr. Ralph T. and Mrs. Rhada Gibbs Richards. Her earlier years were spent in Utah. She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she eventually met and married Robert L. Schonlau in June of 1949. Barbara and Robert had four children: Sharon (Nathan) Manske, Robert (Nancy) Schonlau, Kathy Potter, Susan (Roger) Waite, 19 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren.

Barbara loved nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed flowers and was an avid walker. She also appreciated beautiful music and was an ice cream aficionado. Her life was devoted to her family, and she was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rhada, and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 1st at 4:00 p.m. in Salt Lake City at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive Salt Lake City, UT 84106. The viewing will be held at the same location preceding the funeral at 3:15 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Salt Lake City Cemetery following the funeral.
