

On August 24, 1925 two beautiful baby girls were born to Clyde Abraham Cottle and Neta Webster Cottle in Rexburg, Idaho. Donna Lou lived only six hours and Betty Jean grew to adulthood. Betty Jean Cottle Bergman passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2015.
Betty attended the local high school in Rexburg, and then went to the Colorado Women's College in Denver, later graduating from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics. She did her internship in Chicago and later moved to Salt Lake City. Working for Utah Power and Light, Betty demonstrated the new electric range, refrigerator, and the electric freezer. Betty appeared on television doing cooking demonstrations along with Velate White, conducting over 100 demonstrations on the air. Throughout her life, Betty loved the Lord and served faithfully in many church callings.
At a night class at the U of U she met Ray Louis Bergman. The two were married in the Salt Lake temple on Dec 8, 1954. Ray preceded Betty in death on Dec 13, 2001. Betty is survived by her sister, LaRue Murray of Provo; children, Anita (Roger) Koch of Salt Lake, Dorothy (Steve) Voorhees of Gilbert, AZ, and Dean (Mary Jo) Bergman of Woodstock, GA. Betty also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, Gabby her cat, and her caregiver and friend Casey Ellingson with her dog Bubba Du. Services will be held Thursday, Aug 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Midvale East 2nd Ward (7250 S. 300 E.) Family and friends are welcome to visit at the ward from 9:30 - 10:30 AM for a viewing. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn next to her husband Ray and her loving mother Neta.
