Boyd C. Wright

1928 - 2018

Our loving father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend passed away peacefully in his home on February 15, 2018. Boyd was born in Hinckley, Utah to Ivan Morris Wright and Hilda Castina Christensen on May 20, 1928.

Boyd graduated from Hinckley High School in 1947, then attended Snow College in Southern Utah and continued his education at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. In 1949 Boyd joined the Army and served in the Korean War.

Boyd married Thelma Ellen Evans in the Salt Lake Temple, Utah October 10, 1952. Boyd and Thelma set up their first home in Logan, Utah and started their family with daughter Ellen in 1953. Boyd worked at Morton Salt Company for thirty-seven years; L-3 Communications eight years and certified as an auto mechanic at Salt Lake Community College.

Boyd is survived by his children Ellen Lewis, Boyd E. Wright, Kristine Wright, and Ivan Wright (Nancy). His grandchildren Ranell Whiting, Jeremy J. Johnson (Heather) and Zoe M. Wright. Great-grand children Christopher and Cody Whiting and Tommy and Jake Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma Ellen Evans Wright, brothers Dee Wright and Lawrence K. Wright, his sister Verla Dean Williams, grandson Carlos J. Johnson and his daughter Norma Castina Wright Gardiner.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will start at 10:00 a.m., service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery following the services.
