Bruce Bingham Hall

1925-2018

Bruce Bingham Hall, son of Thomas Edwin Hall and Hannah Leonia Ashby Hall passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018. He was born June 30, 1925, Vernal, Utah, and was the eighth child in a family of ten children.

He referred to himself as “I am a Survivor”. He truly was, since he survived the great depression, childhood illnesses, an Oil drilling accident, Bladder Cancer, Heart Attacks, World War II, and PTSD, raising his 7 children and untold childhood and adulthood pranks. At 93, the age of his passing, He was the last and oldest member of the Thomas E. Hall family.

At age 18 and after graduation from high school, Vernal Utah, he was drafted in WWII to the Army and served in Guam and the Philippines in the South Pacific Campaign. He was a decorated veteran, receiving the Bronze Star for heroism as well as other awards. He was an infantry scout and sharp shooter and would often be sent ahead of the troops to locate the enemy. In 1945 he received an honorable discharge.

Following WWII he served an LDS mission in The Northwestern States. Upon his return from his mission, he met his eternal companion, Laurel S. Snyder at BYU. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 7, 1949

He was raised in a faithful LDS family and as a lifetime member of the church he fulfilled 2 missions, both to Oregon (one with his wife) and numerous church callings. He said that his favorite was that of being the Deacons Quorum advisor, to this day, many of those young men still refer to him as “Uncle Bruce.”

Survived by wife Laurel Sadie Snyder Hall and 7 children: Carolyn (Mike) Davis, Douglas (Kati) Hall, Ronald (Lesha) Hall, Scott Hall, Janet (Jim) Perry, Joyce (Gary) Birrell and David Hall

Preceded in Death by his Parents, Thomas and Leonia Hall. Siblings, Lela Carter, Frieda Losee, Ludeen Winegar, Jay Hall, Don Hall, Garth Hall, Glade Hall, Edwin Hall. and a Granddaughter, Rebecca Davis.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of the LDS Olympus 7th ward. 2675 East 4430 South (4500 South) Holladay Ut. August. 9, 2018 11:00 AM

Viewings will be on August 8, 2018 6pm to 8pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt, Lake City Utah as well as , August 9, 2018; from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the funeral services at the LDS chapel. (address above)

Burial will take place at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery immediately after the Funeral Service.
