C. Joe Reaveley 72, passed away surrounded by his family February 23, 2011 due to heart failure. He fought courageously with profound dignity for many years with multiple health problems. He was born October 3, 1938 in Rock Springs Wyoming to Evelyn Verlie May and Clyde W. Reaveley. He was the oldest of 3 sons.
He attended Utah State University where he met and fell in love with the love of his life and married Ida-Lee Willardsen on December 27, 1962 in the Manti temple. They enjoyed 48 years together. He is a proud father and Grandfather. Spending time with his family was a top priority. Joe received his engineering degree from Utah State University where he also played basketball for his beloved Aggies. He was a sports enthusiast spending time as both a participant and spectator. Joe had an immense love for engineering; he worked 38 years for the Utah Department of Transportation.
He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many calling over the years including a humanitarian mission in Salt Lake City with Ida.
He is survived by his wife Ida-Lee Willardsen Reaveley, his children: Jan (Jodie) Harris Ogden UT, Cyndi (Darren) Caldwell Garden City UT, Andrea (Darin ) Curtis Virginia Beach VA, Jolene (Geoff) Towers Beavercreek OH, 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, brothers Ron Reaveley (Carolyn)Salt Lake City UT, Larry Reaveley (Janice) Draper UT, He was preceded in death by son, C. David Reaveley and his parents.
Funeral services for Joe will be held Monday February 28th at 11:00am in the Valley View Stake Center 2245 E. 3900 S. SLC.
Viewing held at the Wasatch Mortuary 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC Sunday February 27th from 5-7pm as well as at the stake center prior to the funeral services from 9:45am-10:45am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
