She was blessed with a sharp, clear mind and memory that were a tremendous asset to her virtually to the day of her passing. She enjoyed sharing positive one-line quotations and favorite scriptural passages with her children to help encourage and keep us on the right paths.
She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Utah and continued her pursuit of knowledge throughout her life. She loved to think, ponder and find patterns, especially from the Old Testament, which she dearly loved.
Throughout her life, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved and served others and had a tender heart particularly for those who were struggling. She diligently strived to put her trust in her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, prayerfully seeking guidance and direction in ways she could be a tool for good to others.
It seems fitting that she passed away peacefully in her home during a much-needed winter snowstorm on 18 February 2026. She will be sorely missed.
In tribute to our mother from Proverbs 31:28 of the Old Testament: "Her children arise up, and call her blessed." We love you Mom.
She is survived by our dad, her former spouse, Gary Sandquist (Kristine), and children Titia Gwynn, Julia Miner, Taunia Wilde, Cynthia Peterson, Carl Sandquist and their spouses, along with her brother, J. Forster Betts (Leatha). Her posterity includes 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her sisters JoAnn, Donna, Kay and Janice.
We are grateful to her Home Instead Caregivers: Barbara, Melissa, Tracy, McKenna, Marissa and others who provided kindness and care for our mother so she could remain at home. With a generous heart, she enjoyed engaging her caregivers as "co-conspirators" to spread gifts that would show love to those around her. We are also so grateful to her Ward and friends in the neighborhood. They meant so much to her.
A morning viewing will be held Saturday, 28 February 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:15 am in the Relief Society room of Wasatch 7th Ward, located at 1750 S 1500 E, Salt Lake City, Utah. The funeral services will follow at 10:30 am in the Ward Chapel. There will be no graveside service.
