

Dale Charles Hembrough Son, Brother and Uncle passed away Dec 11, 2020 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He went peacefully and quietly with dignity. Some of his last words were “I didn’t want to give up.” But he never did as he faced each challenge and treatment .
Dale was born on July 11, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles Albert Hembrough and Vivien Lorna Hicks. He attended South High School. He also graduated from Utah Technical College as a draftsman and later earned an Associates Degree from Salt Lake Community College in Computer Science.
He served for 4 Years in the United States Navy based in Pearl Harbor. Got to see many other countries, and spent time in Vietnam during the war.
Upon returning home he worked for Arnold Machinery and NAC. He then went to work for Harmans KFC as a computer programmer and stayed there until he retired. He always had a project or a hobby going. Taking after his father he was a very crafted in working with wood and an avid gardener.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many callings. His last one being in his stake family history library. Dale served as a veil worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 4 years.
He was a dedicated son and brother and an awesome Uncle and Great Uncle. He built many pinewood derby cars with very creative ideas with his nephews and grand nephews and would attend the races. His first creation when he became an Uncle was for his first niece and it was a rocking chair that was just her size. His nieces and nephews always knew they had a best friend.
Dale was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Charles & Vivien Hembrough and by his brother in law Larry B. Madison.
He is survived by his sister Janet Madison Manwill (Lee), and his nieces and nephews, Shellie Madison Peterson (Joseph), Jeffrey Madison (Jacci), Christopher Madison (Anna), Timothy Madison (Jennie), Adam Madison (Jenny) , Carrie Madison Dages (Michael) and Jonathan Madison (Andriele).
He has 23 grand nieces and nephews and 3 great grand nieces.
We would like to thank Dr. Kovacsovics for his kindness and the work he and his team at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital did to keep Dale healthy and with us as long as they could. And much gratitude to the hospice team in the comfort suite who cared for him his last 4 days.
Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Highland View Ward, 3051 South 2900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing prior to the service will be held from 11:00 to noon. The service for family only will be at noon but will be live streamed. Graveside Military Service will be at Wasatch Lawns.
Dale will be missed by many friends, ward member and family. He will always be affectionately remembered as “Uncle Dale”. He was loving , independent and upbeat to the end. How glorious his return to his parents and Father in Heaven must have been. We love you Uncle Dale.
