Danny K. Himes

Danny K. Himes, "Dan Himes of America” age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Danny was born in Salt Lake City on August 22, 1953 to William J. and Joyce Marie Himes. Danny attended high school at Highland High. After graduating in 1972, Danny joined the Navy to serve his country. Danny met his lifelong partner, Janie, and they married on November 27, 1982. Together they lived and enjoyed life to the fullest, eventually starting a family.

Danny was a very family oriented man. He attended Union school to help jump start his career in the sheet metal industry. This experience allowed him to become a foreman at A&T Sheet Metal where he was employed for over 25 years. Eventually retiring from the union after 40 plus years, Danny enjoyed spending his time golfing with his friends. Danny was the sweetest, most genuine person that you would ever meet. He was always available to assist someone in need. All who knew Danny knew that he came across as very blunt, however, he always shared kind words in an effort to lift others up and push them in the right direction. He will be missed tremendously.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; Joyce Marie and William J. Himes and his son, Cory K. Himes.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Marie Himes; son, Anthony Himes; two grandchildren, Sergio M. Arzate Himes and Briana D. Himes; and a great-granddaughter Mayilee Arzate.

A Celebration of life will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106.
