David exhibited a hard-working spirit early on, taking on a paper route at 8 years old. A remarkably talented craftsman, he discovered his passion for building furniture and construction at an early age. He founded his first business, Upright Construction, in Canoga Park, California, in the 1980s. After relocating to Utah in 1993, he proudly re-established Upright Construction, specializing in exquisite framing and timber work. Several years later he also established a successful general contracting business, Upright Builders. David earned a reputation as a master carpenter, building breathtaking million-dollar homes in the Park City, UT area. He had a stunning residence featured in the Parade of Homes tour. His son Kyle continues the cherished family legacy in the construction trade.
David was an enthusiastic lover of cars and motorcycles and instilled a passion for camping and riding in his children and grandchildren. David had immense pride in his three children and adored being a dad, often saying they were three of the best things he did in his life.
David was an animated storyteller with an exceptional memory, captivating everyone around him. He had a profound love for classic candies and classic rock music, often playing along on his drums to his favorite songs from a treasured collection of vinyl records.
