David Swift was born on December 27th 1961, in Glendale, California and was received into the loving arms of Melba Adris Brown Swift, and Henry G Swift, to be loved and cherished throughout his life.
He was lucky to have 2 sets of parents, those who brought him to life, and those who received him, and shared his life.
He grew up in the East Mill Creek area, in Utah. He graduated from Skyline High School, earned his Eagle Scout, Served an LDS mission in Minnesota. attended the U of U, and BYU. He Graduated from Brigham Young University with his BA in Communications.
He met and married his sweetheart, the love of his life Kathy Anne Young in 1991 and married her for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. David had four beautiful daughters, Jessica, Amelia, Abigail and Anna...the joy of his life!
His professions were in sales, he was always good with people, and had a beautiful deep voice. He started out at KTalk Radio, selling air time. He was asked on several occasions to voice commercial ads. He also worked for National Federation of Independent Business, RC Willey, and eventually established Plum Creek Insurance, a family owned business, with an emphasis in senior health insurance products. He loved and was loved by his clients.
He died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism, while on his way to meet with a client on Nov. 29th.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melba Swift and Henry Swift. His birth parents, "Micki" Mortensen, Axel Mortensen, his Parents in Law, Frank Young and Eunice Young.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Anne Young, his Daughters; Jessica Rose Swift, Amelia Madeline Swift, Abigail Elizabeth Swift and Anna Celeste Swift and her husband Mason Zheng, his birth sisters, Heidi Mortensen, Tania Mortensen, and Cristal Mortensen, and countless other family members, who will remember and cherish him always.
A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 S Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday, December 8th from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 9th at 11am at the East Mill Creek 12th Ward located at 3103 E Craig Drive, SLC, Utah with a viewing held prior from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment to follow services at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
