

Gene passed away July 11, 2017 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's & Heart Disease. He was born June 12,1938 in Salt Lake City to Delbert E. Parry Sr & Mary E. Reilley Parry, the second of four children. He loved being involved in sports and being in the outdoors with friends and family.
Gene graduated from West High School and Canada College in California. He served in the Coast Guard Search & Rescue. He worked in various roles at Johnson Controls and Honeywell, with the highlight of his career working on 73 temples with the Honeywell LDS team.
Gene married Nancy Rae Mault on March 17, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple and they were blessed with 3 boys and 3 girls who brought great happiness into their lives and taught them unconditional love. He had a deep abiding love for his wife and family, especially for Nancy who he affectionately described as his second savior, caregiver, and partner willing to take on all challenges.
He had a strong testimony and was devoted to the LDS Church, holding leadership positions throughout his life, including Bishop and High Councilor. Gene's warm & caring nature drew others to him. He always had a smile on his face and a sense of humor, and was an example of strength in adversity during his final years.
Survived by: wife Nancy, children Greg(Tracey) Parry, Jeff Parry, Jennifer (Jason) Rawlins, Kim Parry(Scott Parker), Casey(Stacy) Parry, Tammy(John) Moffat, 8 wonderful grandchildren and one precious great grandchild, and sisters Bonnie Fullmer and Sharon(Roy) Lovato. Preceded in death by parents and brother Darrell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View 3rd Ward, 1925 E. Gundersen Lane, Holladay Utah. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, SLC, UT and at the Valley View 3rd ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Friday morning. Flow
