Dixon Ernest Greer

Dixon Ernest Greer, age 83, died May 4, 2012 in South Jordan, Utah. He was born October 14, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ernest Greer and Leareda Faye Greer. He graduated from Granite High School. Dick married Patricia Laney November 1, 1949 (deceased) and later married Bette Jean Wainwright December 15, 2004, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.

Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived and instilled a life of hard work and volunteer service to others. He spent many hours with his grandsons volunteering at the Utah Food Bank. Dick was active in serving at the South Jordan Senior Center.

Upon retiring he turned to woodworking and was always making various crafts for his daughters as well as beautiful furniture, cabinets and shelves. He was actively involved in humanitarian projects and watching great-grandchildren.

Survived by his beloved wife Jean, children: Kevin Lee Greer (Nedra), Guylyn Johnson (Jeffery), Cindy Scharman (Reed), step-children: Chad Wainwright, Jill Wallace (Stuart) his brother Spencer (Elizabeth), seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Patricia (wife), Thomas (brother) and parents.

The family would like to thank the staff at Jordan Valley Medical Center ER and the flight team with Air Med.
