Don Jacobson

1938 ~ 2010

Don C ‘Jake’ Jacobson, son of George H and Vera Jacobson, passed to the other side peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on October 26, 2010. Jake was born in Ogden, Utah on March 20, 1938. He married Judy Seegmiller on July 28, 1961 and they shared 49 wonderful years. Jake served his country in the U.S. Army in Occupied Germany. He retired from First Security Bank after 21 years and retired from the Salt Lake Sheriff’s Department after 14 ½ years. He was active in many charities - Youth Inc., March of Dimes, Heart Assoc, USIS and the Skyline Jeep Club. Jake enjoyed his family and friends and was known affectionately as ‘Big Jake from Salt Lake’. He and his wife loved to spend time camping, fishing and in Wendover. He is survived by his loving wife Judy, daughters Donna (Sparky) Taylor, Traci (Larry) Kesler, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his brother Jerry. He was preceded in death by daughter Wendy Ann Herbert. In honoring Jake’s wishes graveside services for family members will be held in the Mausoleum at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park on October 30, 2010. Afterwards a celebration of Jake’s life will be held at The Old Meeting House (4120 S Highland Drive) from Noon-2pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Humane Society.
