

Donna Lea Cook Broce, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away March 2, 2015. She was born July 12, 1933 in Plains, Kansas to Harold Millard and Geneva Rosella Stoltz Cook. Donna grew up and was educated in Kansas and Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl years, and graduated from Boise City High School. She married Bobby Lloyd Broce on September 26, 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1972.
The family moved to Utah in 1972, and joined the LDS church. They later moved to Dodge City, Kansas where Donna was the Western Kansas Family History Center Librarian. Bob and Donna moved back to Utah in 1995. Donna served as a Missionary at the Utah Valley Family History Center at BYU for more than 10 years.
In her life she enjoyed music, drawing and painting, sewing, dogs, gardening, genealogy and caring for her family, especially her daughter Sandy. She also enjoyed square dancing, sewing the square dance clothing, and researching family history at BYU with her husband, Bobby, her eternal Love.
Donna’s family would like to thank the many caregivers who cared for her with love and dignity. She is survived by three children: Michael Lloyd (Colleen) Broce of Pocatello, Idaho; Brenda Lynn (Kelly) Thompson of Sandy, Utah; and Sandra LeaAnn of Lindon, Utah; four grandchildren: Jaime (Jacqui), Whitney, Loretta and Jesse; two great-grandchildren: Livie and Lucy; siblings: Betty(Max-deceased), Wayne (Rosa), Dennis (Rene) and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband (Bobby); parents; brother, Wayne; grandson, Toby James Jespersen; great-grandson, Corbin James Jespersen; and nephew, Kelley Broce.
Please join us for a celebration of her life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Lakeview 7th Ward Chapel, 155 West 1600 South, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, Friday, March 6 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to service.
