

Gerald Allen Secrist, age 83, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on December 15, 2015, in Murray, Utah. He was born December 7, 1932, in Ogden, Utah to Charles Allen and Hazel Secrist. He attended Weber High School and went on to receive his journeyman's license as a Master Electrician as a member of IBEW Local 354. He was a member of the LDS church and served a mission in Germany. Upon his return he served in the U.S. Army, also stationed in Stuttgart, Germany with his wife Beverly Borgmann, later divorced. He married Angela Blackburn on May 24, 2001, in Laughlin, NV. They met while ballroom dancing, one of the many things they enjoyed doing together. His love of history and politics led them on adventures all around the world. His was an avid football fan and while his health permitted enjoyed other sports such as golfing. He adored his grandkids and his great grandkids were the apple of his eye. Surviving are his wife Angela of Murray; daughters Diane (Kim) Ferguson of Murray and Pam (Pete) Bechtolt, Parker, CO; stepchildren Monica (Chaz) Lundgren of Sandy and Matt (Rachelle) Blackburn of Syracuse; his four grandchildren including his dear granddaughter Meleena (Chris) Morley of West Valley and his great grandchildren Landon, Destinee, Dominick and Cadence. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 2 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Dr, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may gather for a viewing at the chapel one hour prior to the services.
