Hanna Dorothy Curzon, 91, peacefully passed through the veil on January 10, 2025 and was reunited with her family in heaven. Hanna was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 7, 1933, and several years thereafter moved to Washington, D.C. In 1955, Hanna married Daniel Joseph Curzon, and they had two children: Penny Diane Shaw, who lives in Omaha, Nebraska, and Christopher Daniel Curzon, who lives in Riverton, Utah.
Hanna worked in the White House during the Clinton administration and worked at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense. She served in the offices of Secretary Colin Powell, Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, and for Ian Brezinski, Under Secretary of Defense for European and NATO affairs. Hanna was a great patriot who deeply loved her country.
Hanna was a wonderful mother and a fun-loving grandmother. All of her grandchildren enjoyed spending time with her. She was loving, service-oriented, giving, smart, and always fun. Hanna had a zest for life and enjoyed socializing, shopping, and traveling. She loved the east coast, especially the beach and Maryland crabs. She was proud of her German heritage. She was a strong woman who overcame many challenges in life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Hanna is survived by her two children: Penny (Stuart) Shaw, and Christopher (Charlene) Curzon; nine grandchildren: Andrew (Heidi) Curzon, MaryHannah (Erik) Olson, Anna Marie (Dillon) Franks, Skylar (Regina) Shaw, Jonathan Curzon, Michael Curzon, Catherine (Hunter) West, Matthew Curzon, and Rachael Curzon; eleven great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Chase, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Lukas, Harrison, Parker, Sadie, Romann, GraceLynn, Margot; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret Wiemer, her siblings, Heber, Marion, and Ernest, and her former husband.
Hanna’s family extends their deepest gratitude to her hospice nurses, Theresa, Crystal, and Tam, for their compassionate care and kindness. No funeral service will be held, but a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels To Towers, where Hanna donated monthly. Hanna will be greatly missed.
