Harry James Todd, Jr. 83, died Sunday November 18, 2012 in Salt Lake City from cancer. Jim was born July 17, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Harry James Todd Sr. and Lois Fowler. He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah. Jim had a brilliant academic intellect and continued his studies at the U of U throughout his life. Later Jim worked as a computer software consultant. He was stationed in Utah for his military service in the Air National Guard.
Jim enjoyed hiking and backpacking. He especially liked hiking in Bristlecone Pine Tree country. He liked animals and had a tender spot in his heart for cats. When his mother became too old to care for herself, Jim dutifully assumed her care, until her passing in 2005. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and regularly attended church meetings as long as his health permitted.
He is survived by a sister Gloria T. Evans (Edmund C.) and a brother Robert J. (Joe) Todd and many nieces and nephews.
We the family extend our deep gratitude to the Bishopric and members of the Valley View 9th Ward for their kind service to Jim. We also thank the doctors and nurses at the Veterans hospital for the excellent care they gave Jim.
Services will be Friday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive, SLC with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
