Helen Colleen Jarrett Price of Salt Lake City, passed away on January 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, putting up a valiant fight after suffering a stroke and battling cancer. She was born February 15, 1935 in Nephi, Utah, the youngest of four children born to Irvin and Ethel Jarrett. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ranae (Ken) Kay, brother Eric (Edith) and sister Doris. After graduating from Juab High School, Helen moved to Salt Lake City where she met her beloved husband Robert D. Price. They met at the same place of employment, fell in love and were married August 10, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple — together for more than 62 years. She was dedicated and devoted to her family and friends. Always smiling, Helen set an extraordinary example of how to love and care for her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a very special relationship with all of the grandchildren and was greatly loved by them. They will deeply miss their “Nana.” She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many different callings, but her most-loved and satisfying calling was serving as the “Compassionate Service Leader” where she served for many, many years. With help from numerous others, she enjoyed ministering to those around her, providing meals for families, and especially lunches for families after funeral services — always striving to make it a pleasant experience for them. She holds a special place in all of our hearts and will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by her loving husband Bob, her four children, Vickie (Craig) Culver, Paul, Kathryn (Douglas) Lund and Lori (Greg) Johnson, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 20th in the Winder Skyview Ward chapel at 1361 E. 4000 S. Salt Lake City from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the same chapel on Monday, January 21st at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:45. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery at 3401 S. Highland Drive.
