He was born in Price, UT, on July 25, 1986. Jake is the son of Barry and Karen Woodruff who loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Katie Woodruff, their children: Kai and Malia, and his angelic Mother-in-Law Tristan. He is also survived by his Sisters: Shanna Hicken (Collin), Kelli Moore (John), and Sharee Vance (Jared), and his brother, Taylor Woodruff (Sarah).
Jake graduated from Wasatch High School in 2005. He was a two-time basketball State Champion (should’ve been a three-time Champ if you ask Jake) and went on to star at Central Wyoming. He was top 3 in the nation for three-point shooting and wasn’t shy about letting that be known.
He met the love of his life, Katie, and her two beautiful children, Kai and Malia in 2015. They will forever be the best thing that ever happened to him. He was smitten from Day 1 by Katie. She was his Queen. Her beauty and ability to out-lift everyone at the gym made him the happiest husband in the world!
He loved to support Kai and Malia in their activities. He was always the loudest and proudest person in the audience—you always knew which kids were his.
He loved his Mother-in-Law Tristan and cherished their relationship. They would laugh and cry together and he was always so supportive and helpful with whatever she needed.
Jake had the most contagious laugh. He loved to present himself as a big, intimidating tough guy—but the teddy bear side of him would always come out and everyone around him felt protected and loved by the energy that he brought to the room.
He will be dearly missed by his family, extended family, and close friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 am in Millcreek, specifically at 3820 South 2000 East, Salt Lake City, UT. There will be a Viewing from 9:00 am to 10:45 am directly preceding the Funeral services at that same location. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Millcreek, UT 84106.
