Salt Lake City - Jean Taylor Jensen, 89, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at home on December 21, 2018, after a short and courageous battle with cancer to be with her Heavenly Father and family that preceded her in death. Jean is preceded in death by her parents: Stott and Pearl (Judson) Taylor. Her siblings: Gloria Henderson (sister). Lawrence Taylor (brother), and Ronald Taylor (brother).
She was born on September 13th, 1929, and attended schools in Salt Lake City where she graduated from South High School in 1946. Jean married her sweetheart of 72 years Robert Edwin Jensen of Salt Lake City on June 16th, 1949. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 9th, 1961. They had one son and three daughters. Jean retired from the U&I Sugar Company where she held the prestigious honor of being the first female to hold a management position. She volunteered for many years at the museum of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was the Captain of her Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp. Jean was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many church callings.
Jean loved life and lived it to the fullest, traveling with Bob and exploring new places including her favorite destination Hawaii. Jean dearly cherished her family and devoted her life sharing her wisdom, positive outlook on life, and most of all her unconditional love.
Jean is survived by her husband Robert Edwin Jensen. Children: Gregg Robert Jensen, Cynthia Jean (Edward) Peck, LuAnne (Gary Willey) Waters, and Diane (Ronald) Kay. Eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren.
Memorial and graveside services will be held, Sunday, December 23, 2018, 11:00 am, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
