Jeffrey Peter Wilson was born on June 13, 1982, in Salt Lake City, Utah. From the moment he entered this earthly life, Jeff carried a light that was evident to all who knew him. There was something unmistakably special about his spirit, warmth, and goodness that brought happiness to all who knew him. He had a remarkable gift of lifting others, leaving every room brighter and every heart a little lighter through his kindness, humor, and genuine love.
Jeff was raised in Sandy, Utah, by his devoted parents, Jim and Mary Jane Wilson, who instilled in him a foundation of faith, compassion, and service. He attended Hillcrest High School, where he formed cherished friendships and shared his love of music as a member of the Vocal Ensemble. After High School, Jeff answered the call to serve and faithfully dedicated two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission. That experience further deepened his lifelong desire to serve and uplift others.
Jeff lived with a depth of feeling that touched every aspect of his life. He loved fully, served willingly, and gave generously of himself. Whether through friendships, family relationships, or simple daily interactions, Jeff had an ability to see others for who they truly were and to make them feel valued, seen, and loved.
His passions included cheering on the University of Utah football team, traveling the world, and spending time with those closest to him. These hobbies were expressions of a heart that embraced life with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Above all, Jeff’s most sacred and cherished role was that of a father. His children, Sadi (17) and Carson (5), were the center of his world and the greatest joy of his life. His love for them was deep, abiding, and eternal. That love does not end here; it continues beyond the veil and will remain a guiding influence in their lives. His legacy will live on not only in their memories, but in the goodness, strength, and light they carry forward.
As the youngest of six children, Jeff shared a tender and meaningful bond with his parents and siblings. He brought joy, compassion, and a sense of unity to his family. His life was a quiet testament of love in action, of showing up, lifting burdens, and bringing fun to those around him.
Though his passing leaves a profound void, we find comfort in the eternal truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ, that life does not end with death, and that families are forever. We trust that Jeff has been welcomed home by loving Heavenly Parents and that his spirit continues to live, grow, and rejoice. His light, so freely given in this life, will not be extinguished but will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jeff is survived by his beloved children, Sadi (Tawni-mom) and Carson (Angie-mom); his parents, Jim and Mary Jane Wilson; his siblings, Matt Wilson (Noriko), Brenda Armstrong, Becky Figlioli (Vinnie), Mark Wilson (Susan), and Steve Wilson (Monique); and his 19 nieces and nephews. He shared a special bond with each of them, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
Until we meet again, we hold him close in our hearts, grateful for the time we were given and strengthened by the promise that through Jesus Christ, we will be reunited.
