

Joan Woolsey Burnham was born January 3, 1929, to Don and Lillian Woolsey. She spent her early years in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she attended Granite High School. She later moved to Kentucky for three years after which she returned to Utah which she called home for the rest of her life. Upon returning SLC she married the love of her life, Keith Leon Burnham, who passed in 2012. They were married 59 years and together raised three children: Candace Nordgren, Lonnie Burnham (Christine) and the late Joni Burnham. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She enjoyed her early career as a seamstress and retired after a long and successful career as a banker for the Federal Reserve Bank. Her favorite pastime was traveling in her motor home. She loved her friends in the Wasatch Wagons and the Allegro Motor Home groups. She couldn't tell you how many times they crossed the country on one adventure or another; oh, the stories she would tell. She served her community in numerous respects, foremost in the church positions she held. She also volunteered for many years as a voting judge for elections. She served as Primary President, was a counselor in the Relief Society, and was an avid member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She had a beautiful voice and for many years entertained many. Graveside services will be held on September 24, 2015, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park located at 3401 S. Highland Dr., SLC, UT at 3:00 pm. Her viewing will commence at 1:00 pm, prior to the graveside service.
