

Joye Jensen Cummings passed away at her home on July 22, 2017. She was born on June 27, 1928 in Salt Lake City to Lawrence Eugene and Sarah Faatz Jensen. She attended schools in the Salt Lake area, graduating from South High School. She married Joseph Lorraine Cummings on Valentine's Day in 1949. They had 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
The greatest joys in her life were her family, Church, music and teaching school. She lived a full life of complete and unconditional love that touched the lives of all who knew her. When her children were older, she was able to get her teaching degree at the University of Utah and taught school for 23 years. She sang with the Tabernacle Choir for 18 years and with the Jay Welch and Choral Arts Choirs for many years. She also sang with the Haven Ward ladies' trio for 43 years. She served in many ward and stake callings while living in the Haven Ward for 66 years.
Joye is survived by her 4 children: David (Nora), Becky Kimball (Randy), Dan, and Mary DuVall (Ken), 11 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and his wife, Kaye and Iown Jensen and 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Haven Ward Chapel, 2280 South 300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.
