Judith Ann Powelson Folsom, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 88, passed away July 14, 2021 from heart complications. She will be greatly missed. Judy led a life focused on family and faith.
Judy was born Nov 26, 1932 in Salt Lake City to Loran and Mabel Powelson. She had polio as a toddler but the lingering effects never held her back. She graduated from BYU, where she met her future husband, Theron Folsom. They were married Sept 2, 1954 and their family grew to four children. Judy worked beside her husband in the business he created and continued to use her secretarial skills for many years. She cherished her connections with family, neighbors and friends, particularly a “Study Group” who remained dear friends throughout their lives. Judy loved to travel the world, which included joining Theron as he sang with the Tabernacle Choir and serving a couples mission to Athens, Greece & the London Temple. She was very connected to her family, enjoyed temple and family history work, and served with Theron in the Salt Lake Temple for eight years.
Preceded in death by her husband Theron, brother Robert and daughter Ann Marie, Judy is survived by her son-in-law, Marshall Smith, children Bradford Folsom (Janet), Jayne Corbett (Ken), and Rebekah Folsom (Jamie), 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services Thursday July 22nd—11am, East Mill Creek Ninth Ward Chapel, 3750 Hillside Lane, SLC, Utah 84109. Viewings at the same location July 21st 6-8 pm and 22nd 10-11am. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park; To watch the service via Zoom please refer to the below link.
