Born June 25, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Garald (Gary) M. Olsen and Carolyn Mary Clarke, Karen was the second of five children.
As a young adult Karen lived with her beloved grandmother, Bertha Langton Clark, while she studied to become a pilot. She happily changed her plans when she met and fell in love with Kelly LeBaron Warren. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1982.
They settled in Midvale where they were blessed with five sons who received her complete devotion. She shared with them her love of books and reading and the out-of-doors.
Karen carefully planned family camp outs, hikes, picnics and Sunday dinners as times to nurture the relationships she loved the most. Karen was a hard worker who immersed herself in service to her community, her church and to her family most of all.
A student of her family history she took every opportunity to teach her sons and her grandchildren about their ancestors.
Karen was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Of the many callings she fulfilled, her favorites allowed her to work with children. Her home was a magnet for children of all ages. Karen always welcomed them with a smile and a plate of food. No one ever left hungry.
Her grandchildren were her true joy. She shared her talents and traditions with them and created a legacy of love.
Karen was a master of thoughtfulness and compassion as she lovingly crafted gifts and delivered them personally as often as she could. Whatever she had, she was willing to give.
Karen is survived by her parents Garald (Gary) M. Olsen and Carolyn Mary Clarke; loving husband, Kelly; sons Andrew (Megan); Joel (Megan), Chad, David, and Daniel; seven grandchildren; brother Layne (Janis) Olsen; sister Kolynn Olsen. Preceded in death by brothers Kim Olsen and Ray Olsen.
