Born October 5, 1925 in Sandy, UT to Jefferson Cheve Christian and Elry Evelyn Winquist; he graduated West High 1943 ; served in the U.S. Navy WWII as a medic 1944-46; graduated the U of U 1950 with a BA in Fine Arts and married the love of his life, Larita Joan Watson, November 23, 1950. Joan and Keith fortified their vows in the Washington DC temple 1982 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary last Friday.
Keith’s career began as a graphic designer in the Ad dept. and worked toward retail manager at Sears over 36 years. He also served as a volunteer for LDS Hospital 25 years (11,500 volunteer hours), found fulfillment singing with the Swanee Singers 22 years, and as a LDS temple vail worker 30 years.
Keith loved his family, loved being a grandpa and was a friend to all. You could find him playing tennis with his brother at the Park Place court almost to the end. In fact, Park Place has proclaimed the court Keith Christian Court in his honor. Everyone who met him knew him as a man of integrity and heart. He spent his life giving of himself to his community and church, lending a hand, always ready to help. He was a gentle, steady, solid rock. He was also an incredible artist; many of his logo designs endure to this day. Keith was definitely one of the Good Guys.
Keith is survived by his wife, Joan, brother Robert Dale; children Deni (Mitzi Hencley), Terry Simmons (Bill), Kelly, Stacey Abel; grandchildren Garrett, Jill, Erin, Ben, Kate; great-grandchild Asher.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jackyne Markin.
