Ken was born in Ferndale, Michigan to Otto and Elsie Brown. He was the middle child of two
sisters, Pat and Vicki.
He was a star quarterback in high school and also loved to play baseball, tennis and
racquetball. Like his dad, he was also a musician, and loved jazz music and all the great
crooners--especially Frank Sinatra.
Ken attended Lincoln High School in Michigan where he met his wife Gloria Molinar. They have
been together since 10th grade and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Together, Ken and Gloria had 3 daughters. Lisa, Lori and Cheryl. He loved his girls!
Ken worked as a retail manager throughout his career across the U.S. including Michigan, Ohio,
Washington and finally Utah in 1973 where he and Gloria settled and raised their family.
Retirement gave him many opportunities to do the things he loved, like travel to the family
cottage in Interlochen, Michigan and watch his grandkids grow up. He never missed a soccer
match or baseball game!
He loved his grandkids Jessica, Kyle, Aubrey and Marcus.
Their memories include going to Interlochen camp for ice cream, playing electric boats in Green
Lake, putting puzzles together, and playing a good game of Skip-Bo or Michigan Rummy. He
loved having them over for sleepovers where he would make popcorn and his famous
milkshakes!
Ken is survived by his wife Gloria, daughters and their spouses Lisa Brown Mallwitz (Tony), Lori
Brown Winrow (Mike, deceased), and Cheryl Brown Jones (Mike). Four grandchildren, Jessica
Mallwitz, Kyle Mallwitz, Aubrey Jones Woodruff (Daniel) and Marcus Jones. Two great
grandchildren, Odin and Lars Woodruff. His two sisters Pat Symons (Ray, deceased) and Vicki
Sciberras (Vince), Gloria’s siblings and many nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle
Kenny.
Ken will be remembered for his quick wit, passion for teasing everyone he met, and his
infectious laugh. He also loved his dog Max, who has been patiently waiting for him to take him
on walks again.
Private services were held December 10, 2020 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuary.
