Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away in his home in Midway on Sunday, August 25. He left this earth as he lived his life - surrounded by family and music. LeeR was born to goodly parents on August 1, 1942 in Fillmore, Utah. He was sealed to the love of his life Karen Strong on March 18, 1968, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; their love will continue throughout eternity.
LeeR dedicated his life to serving his family and others, particularly through his callings in the LDS church, whether as a choir director, member of the Philadelphia stake presidency, missionary in Finland, or service missionary with Karen.
LeeR received his BS and MBA from the U of U, and at age 68 completed his PhD in Mathematics at BYU. He worked as an actuary throughout the world, including four years in Tokyo.
After a courageous and inspiring battle with aggressive bone cancer, he now joins his parents Elwood and Libbie Lambert, aunts, uncles, niece and nephew. He is survived by his wife Karen and his children and grandchildren: Karalee; Kym and Knykir; Kori and Tony (Tony); Kami (Penelope); Benjamin and Caroline (Benjamin); Krista and Chris (Gabriel, Eve, Adelaide); Kourtney and Ben (Aaron, Elliot, Libbie, Maya); Kerrylin; Kendra (Tucker); and Kelcie. He is also survived by his beloved siblings: Neal and Anne; Gary and Barbara; Gordon and Jackie; and Annette and Steve Suite, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He loves each of you dearly.
Besides family and faith, Leer's passions included music (both listening and playing), handball, running, science fiction, partying, topology, calculating probabilities, eating while watching TV, and finding (or sewing) the perfect bag. His infectious enthusiasm, infinite patience, and unconditional love inspired friends around the world.
In honor of LeeR's love to party, we will celebrate his life at our home on Wednesday, August 28 from 6-8. Funeral will be held Thursday, August 29, 11AM, at the Midway LDS stake center -- 165 N Center St.; viewing one hour prior. Online condolences may be left at www.WasatchLawn.com. For questions please email [email protected].
The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our dear friends and families.
