My mother, Linda D. Sundstrom was born on December 16, 1941 to Clyde F. Decker and Dorian Lloyd. She was born in and lived her life in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a graduate from South High School and sadly passed away on October 29, 2023. Many, many thanks to the staff from Inspiration Home Health and Hospice, the nurses and aides provided so much help over the past three years, I really couldn't have done it without them, I am greatly appreciative for all they did for my mom and I.
Linda would go onto marry Raymond L. Sundstrom and together they had one son, Eric. She survived by her son, Eric and her husband Ray until he preceded her in death in February 2021. These three had many wonderful years together, learning from one another and instilling what it meant to be a good person in their son, Eric. Linda was always there, whether it was a soccer game, a tennis match, bowling league or a school function. Her unwavering support for her son created the opportunities for him to excel in school and in many other aspects of his life.
My mother was such a sweet and caring soul, bringing happiness and warmth to everyone who met her; a passionate defender of animals who didn't shy away from rescuing the occasional stray wandering around the neighborhood. Seeing such empathy taught me the value of a kind action or a kind word. Having someone that was always available to listen and give an encouraging word made the harder times easier and the easy times that much more enjoyable. Never afraid to back down from her beliefs, she showed me the importance of standing up for what was right, especially in the face of opposition. Her steadfast, ethical personality instilled me with the tools necessary to see the right action and act upon it. All the lessons I learned from her have made me the person I am today.
We will miss her and all the things she encompassed that made each day a good day. I love my mother from the bottom of my heart and from the depths of my soul, I will never forget all the help and all the amazing things she did for me; I owe everything to her.
I love you, momma, from here to the stars, always and forever.
