Born to loving parents, Ephriam Poulter and Winifred Wiscomb Poulter on November 22, 1933 in Salt Lake City Utah, the family had three daughters. Loraine spent a happy but simple childhood in the aftermath of the great depression and World War II. She attended East High, the U of U and graduated from BYU. As an elementary school teacher, Loraine enjoyed working with children!
Loraine married Farrell Duane Jensen on July 18, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. She and Farrell had nine amazing children and Loraine loved and excelled at motherhood. She delighted in all children, and loved teaching them in school and in church. Loraine had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many callings including Primary President, YW President and RS President. It can truly be said that Loraine taught by example, doing her best to live the gospel fully. Loraine's seven sons all achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and served missions for the LDS church. She supported her husband in his many callings and shared in the joy of attending all nine of their children's temple marriages.
Loraine enjoyed following BYU sports, listening to the football and basketball games on the radio and later watching the Cougars play on TV. Her decades-long hobby was keeping track of the daily weather, high and low temperatures wherever she and her loved ones lived. Loraine also enjoyed exercising at the Senior Center, doing puzzles with Farrell and visiting with and receiving pictures of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always thinking of others and lived an exemplary, selfless life.
Loraine is preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty (Al) Pearce, and beloved husband, Farrell. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Hunter and nine children: David (Karen), Linda (Allen) Langford, Ruth (Ron) Rhodes, Bruce (Lori), Keith (Gina), Larry (Jill), Clark (Debbie), Steven (Diana), and Robert (Amy) Jensen as well as 35 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
