Louis was born on July 1, 1940 to Delfido Garcia and Sulema Gonzalez DeLara. He grew up and attended school in Monticello, Utah, and later settled in Salt Lake City with his family. Louis was a master of auto body, loved to cook and spent his Saturday mornings going to yard sales. He was an animal lover, a great story teller and spent the weekends during the latter part of his life watching golf. He had a unique sense of humor and a knack for cynicism that was passed along to his children.
Louis is survived by his longtime companion, Anne; daughter Leah (Rob) Walden; sons Gunny (Tracey) Garcia and Jacques (Chanté) Garcia; their mother, Toni; and eight grandchildren. He was recently reacquainted with his first son, Michael Garcia. He was also survived by siblings Carla Jay, Virginia Ortega and Paul Garcia. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Ross, Burt and Delfido Jr.; and sister, Charlotte.
Per dad's request, there will be no funeral services. Final arrangements will be handled by Wasatch Lawn Memorial, where he will be laid to rest.
Dad was well traveled and lived an interesting life. Most of you have heard the stories. He put up a good fight against his ailments and stayed with us longer than we all thought that he would have. Instead of mourning his death, let's celebrate the life that he lived and shared with us.
